Great information - this is wonderful ammunition to use as I help other management understand the "data center as a product" paradigm and how it will maximize our capital expenditures

I have worked several years with building out the entire site structurally and then growing the infrastructure out as needed and found that if you don't plan properly i.e. looking to the future power and cooing requirments, too much space is wasted because you dont have the needed capacities. I have also been on the opposite end where we overplaned and spend millions to have 14 meg of power and when the site was full we only needed 6 meg.
How do you compensate for future growth in relation to power and cooling requirments?
